Students danced the night away at the 10th annual PHC Liberty Ball, held April 17th at Rosemont Manor in Berryville. This year’s ball at Rosemont included an elegant outbuilding for dancing and a manor house for socializing, eating, and taking pictures.

“It was a pleasure to plan,” said junior Susanna Foote, the ball’s coordinator. “I’m really glad that the student body lets me do it for them! I especially love the creative parts of planning events. Ultimately that’s more significant to me: to be able to give the students a really great event.”

Foote has been involved in planning PHC dances since the freshman dance her sophomore year.

“My goal is to not necessarily create a great time, but set up a situation where it is almost impossible for that not to happen,” she said. “It’s about being able to facilitate the love and enjoyment of friendship surrounded by beauty and creativity.”

Tickets for the event were $25, pricey for college students, but like the past three formal PHC dances—the Liberty Ball and two Christmas Balls—the event failed to break even. Donors stepped up to fill the gap in funds.

“I was really blessed by the response of some generous donors who made sure all the costs were covered,” Foote said. “It’s really amazing to me how some students have personally invested in these events.”
