Alumni Profiles

Patrick Henry College has celebrated the graduations of seven classes, beginning in 2002. Our alumni have gone on to work as government staff, classical educators, journalists, homemakers, and in many other fascinating positions. Read some of their stories below.

		Abigail Pilgrim ('06) - Written August 2008 To track down Patrick Henry College alum Abigail Pilgrim (2006) for an interview, you have to catch her between rock-climbing trips to West Virginia and her crazy, globetrotting job as an Associate Producer for National Geographic Television. Pilgrim, a former Journalism major, is seizing every moment to learn about God, the world, and life. \| Read more.
		Angelise Anderson ('08) - Written September 2008 Angelise Anderson’s desire to influence the culture for Christ began long before she set foot on the campus of Patrick Henry College. At PHC, Angelise continued to use her gifts as a communicator to influence the culture for Christ. She now works in Washington D.C. as an Executive Administrator for author and conservative advocate, Star Parker. \| Read more.
		Lindsay See ('07) - Written September 2008 After a year working at Patrick Henry College as an admissions counselor, 2007 Government: Political Theory grad Lindsay See faced a difficult decision—should she accept a law school offer from the University of Virginia, the University of Michigan, Georgetown, or Harvard? 		Chris Ridley ('07) - Written September 2008 His last semester at Patrick Henry, Chris Ridley (Public Policy) found himself with a new wife, a new baby on the way, and no paying internship. Thankfully, PHC alumna Stephanie Terek, who works for the Department of Labor (DoL), gave Ridley an additional boost with key recommendations. 		Raynel Knight ('07) - Written January 2008 "Federal News Today," the NewsChannel 8 show that Raynel Knight ('07) produces, airs from DC every weeknight. She is enjoying a job that fulfills her ambition of many years, while her husband, Jon Knight ('07), prepares for law school. \| Read more.
		Brian Wright ('06) - Written October 2008 April Wright ('07) - Written August 2008 Brian and April Wright make an amazing team. Brian, a former champion debater and debate coach at PHC, currently attends law school. 		Rachel Mueller ('07) - Written November 2008 Rachel Mueller (Classical Liberal Arts, ’07) didn’t know two years ago that she would be living in China, teaching English as a foreign language to over 400 tenth- and eleventh-grade Chinese students. Homeschooled all her life, she also couldn’t have know that, after returning from China, she would be working as a teacher’s assistant in a public school. \| Read more.
		Leeann Walker ('05) - Written October 2008 Over the last four years, Leeann Walker (Government Public Policy, '05) has worked for two Republican Members of Congress. Moving year by year, she has maintained a flexible, humorous view on life as she walks out her career. \| Read more.
		Hannah Curby ('06) - Written December 2008 Literature major Hannah Curby ('06) spends her days in Modena, Italy working in a small bookstore and teaching ESOL classes. Surrounded by European beauty, she soothes her own and others' souls with God's truth. \| Read more.
		Will Glaser ('08) - Written February 2009 For top student Will Glaser (History, '08), former student body president and moot court champion, a first year at Pepperdine Law School on a full-tuition scholarship has proved invigorating and opened new opportunities. \| Read more.
		David Sessions - Written January 2009 Entrepreneur and author of his own online magazine, former Journalism major David Sessions currently resides in Manhattan and works in an office in the Empire State Building. \| Read more.
		Stephanie Terek ('05) - Written March 2009 Stephanie Terek (Public Policy, '05) quite possibly holds the record for campaign activity at PHC, with 19 races in four years. Since a stint at the White House ended in 2008, she now serves as a meeting coordinator for a private firm. \| Read more.
		Judah Kiley ('06) - Written February 2009 Judah Kiley left a job as Executive Assistant to President Graham Walker to preach at his father’s church in Campbell, California. Today, the 2006 PHC Literature graduate says he’s happier than he’s ever been. \| Read more.
		Christy Somerville ('07) - Written February 2009 Christy Somerville, a 2007 Literature graduate from Patrick Henry College, spends her days immersed in the world classics, ranging from the works of T.S. Elliot to ancient Egyptian poets and postmodern graphic novelists. She is a published author responsible for a four-year literary survey curriculum. \| Read more.
		Ryan Akers ('08) - Written May 2009 Ryan Akers, a 2008 Government: Strategic Intelligence graduate, has graduated from Marine Corps basic training, will soon be married, is preparing to attend Infantry Officer School, and is trusting God as he anticipates shipping out to unknown locations across the globe. \| Read more.
		Holly Vradenburgh ('08) - Written May 2009 Holly Vradenburgh (History, ’08) is embarking on her life’s mission to help provide orphaned children across the seas a hope and a future. To this end, she is on a path leading to one of the nation’s top law schools. \| Read more.
		Jordan Estrada ('08) - Written February 2009 A 2008 Literature major, Jordan Estrada reaches toward the ideal of the "warrior poet" as he helps defend the streets of Washington, D.C., with a citizens' volunteer organization known as the Alliance of Guardian Angels. \| Read more.
		Caleb Dalton ('08) and Kirsten Dalton ('07) - Written July 2009 Caleb Dalton, currently Deputy Director of Education for Generation Joshua, and his wife Kirsten, a talented writer and stay-at-home mom, are planning their move to Regent University as Caleb begins law school in Fall 2009. \| Read more.
		Charity Corkey - Written May 2009 From the experience she gained as a full-time writer and online producer for Washingtonpost.com's Loudoun Extra, Charity Corkey (Journalism) recently accepted a position with the Washington Times as an online producer. \| Read more.
		Kenny Ly ('09) - Written July 2009 Kenny Ly has a passion for working with young people, and he has expressed that excitement in innumerable ways during his time at PHC. Now he returns to Shanghai for a year to teach English to Chinese professionals and to serve with the "foreigners" youth group where he grew up. \| Read more.
		Emma Elliott ('05) - Written July 2009 Since her 2005 graduation, Government: Public Policy major Emma Elliott has served at Concerned Women for America and has lived and worked abroad in both Berlin and Brussels. A dual citizen of Holland and the U.S., Elliot now works as an English-language editor and participates in Dutch politics in her free time. \| Read more.
		Cami Helm ('05) - Written November 2009 Three and half months into her new job at His Mansion ministry, Cami Helm realized that, although PHC had taught her a lot, there were gaps in her education. She didn’t know how to chop wood. Or de-feather turkeys. Or counsel women struggling with inner demons. \| Read more.
		Amber Haskew ('07) - Written December 2009 At her new job as Communications Director for Liberty Counsel, a non-profit, Amber Haskew often fields calls from the New York Times or other major news outlets. She drafts press releases and radio copy about the sanctity of life, traditional marriage, and religious freedom. \| Read more.
		Danny Davis ('04) - Written November 2009 For Danny Davis (Public Policy), who was recently named as one of “Loudoun County’s Next Generation of Leaders: 30 Under 30” in an article in Leesburg Today, life appears nothing short of beautiful. And indeed, as he says, “I often just sit down with Angela ('03) and say, man, we have it so easy!” But the joy has not come without a price. The little family has lived through some difficult circumstances since Danny and Angela graduated from PHC. \| Read more.
		Tim Doozan ('04) - Updated January 2010 Alum Tim Doozan (Government) has political aspirations -- someday. Meanwhile, he is concentrating on serving his family and the local community through small-business entrepreneurship. This alum believes that any elected leader should gain people's respect before presuming to lead them. \| Read more.
		Leila Roche ('09) - Written January 2010 While Patrick Henry College alumna Leila Roche (Journalism, ’09) could be sitting in on a business meeting with the Joint Forces of Command on Monday, Tuesday might find her mucking through mud on a local farm. She is working as an education and north Suffolk reporter for the Suffolk News Herald, writing two to seven articles a day. \| Read more.
