Purcellville, VA— The Classical Liberal Arts Department at Patrick Henry College has announced the creation of Legatio, a free, online electronic newsletter aimed at promoting, explaining, and enhancing the study and instruction of classics. Created expressly for homeschool families, Legatio is the creation of PHC Assistant Professor of Classics Dr. David C. Noe,. Noe, who teaches Greek and Latin, will also serve as the newsletter's editor.

Noe pointed to the increasing number of advertisements for study aids in Latin, Greek, logic, and rhetoric appearing in many of the major homeschooling periodicals as evidence of a growing interest in the classics and classically-based approaches to education.

"It would seem there's a real need in the homeschool community for a classics resource that is both authoritative and accessible, and one that maintains a balanced Christian perspective," said Noe. "We're hopeful that Legatio will fill that need."

Founded in 2000, Patrick Henry College is a classical Christian liberal arts college dedicated to training men and women who will lead our nation and shape our culture with timeless biblical values and fidelity to the spirit of the American founding. A PHC education combines rigorous academics, a biblical worldview, a classical liberal arts core curriculum, and apprenticeship methodologies to produce graduates who are uniquely qualified to serve God and mankind.
