Time at PHC: 2009 to the present

Professor Patterson teaches Political Rhetoric and Speechwriting at PHC, a course that helps students apply the elements of effective political rhetoric into their own speeches, opinion pieces, and other literary efforts. Mr. Patterson served in the George W. Bush administration as the senior speechwriter at the Small Business Administration (2008-09) and as a senior advisor and speechwriter at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (2004-08). He also serves with the Howard Center for Family, Religion & Society as an adjunct research fellow and as editor of The Family in America: A Journal of Public Policy. His writings have appeared in The Weekly Standard, National Review Online, Touchstone, and Books & Culture.
