Vice President for Enrollment

Purpose
The Vice President for Enrollment shall provide leadership to and management of the Office of Admissions and the Financial Aid Administrator, including representation of these functions to the Board of Trustees and the Executive Cabinet, as well as faculty, staff, administration, alumni, and students.

Scope
The Vice President for Enrollment shall report directly to the President, and is directly responsible for leadership in the areas of enrollment and financial aid.  In addition, the Vice President shall give leadership to student persistence efforts.

General Responsibilities

  1. Serve as a member of the Executive Cabinet
  2. Represent the Office of Admissions and the Financial Aid function to meetings of the Board of Trustees
  3. Participate in other general administrative duties of the college as directed by the college president
  4. Coordinate the activities of the two functions listed above and enable them to operate in an efficient and effective manner
  5. Manage the development of strategic goals and plans for the college’s enrollment, including new students and retention of current students
  6. Utilize research data to evaluate current strategies and determine new markets and strategies
  7. Oversee the development of financial aid strategies and policies as a means of encouraging the enrollment of new students and the persistence of current students
  8. Participate in an ongoing program of personal, professional development and training and oversee the same for admission and financial aid staff
  9. Perform other duties as requested by the President

Admission Responsibilities

  1. Prepare the annual office budget as a part of the college budgeting process
  2. Supervise the activities of the entire professional, support and student admissions staff
  3. Oversee all aspects of developing the prospect pool, recruiting applicants, processing applications, and admitting new students
  4. Coordinate with the Director of Communications on the preparation of all admission materials, printed and web-based
  5. Serve as liaison on matters of admissions to faculty, students, other administrators, and alumni and trustee board members
  6. Serve as chair and convener of the Admissions Committee

Financial Aid Responsibilities

  1. Supervise the activities of the Financial Aid Administrator
  2. Supervise the preparation of both the office budget and the Student Financial Aid budget and monitor the adherence to each by the Financial Aid Administrator
  3. Assist the Financial Aid Administrator in resolving appeals on matters of student financial aid and relevant college policies
  4. Serve as liaison on matters of financial aid to faculty, students, other administrators and trustee board members as necessary

Qualifications

  1. Enthusiastic support for Patrick Henry College’s mission and Biblical Foundations Statement
  2. Masters degree required
  3. At least ten years of significant enrollment leadership experience or equivalent experience in a related field
  4. A strategic understanding of financial aid and pricing
  5. A professional public appearance and public communication skills
  6. The ability to balance strategic leadership and oversight with a willingness to be actively involved in the recruitment process
  7. Willingness to travel

Depending on the progress of the search, candidates with less than ten years of significant enrollment leadership experience may be considered for a Dean of Enrollment position.

Web Developer

Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Web Developer will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, testing, and maintenance of web-based enterprise applications. Additional responsibilities will include substantive database work (Microsoft SQL Server) to support the applications.

The ideal candidate will have one - two years experience:

  • developing intranet/internet applications
  • with ASP development
  • working with SQL server (2000 /2005) with knowledge of SQL relational database concepts
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio 2003 or later

Higher education experience and .Net skills a plus.

Minimum requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in related field plus one - two years of experience.

Lead Developer / Analyst

Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Lead Developer/Analyst will be responsible to reviewing, analyzing, modifying, and developing solutions to meet the business needs of the college.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of and experience with Microsoft SQL Server including creating databases, stored procedures and triggers. Crystal Reports development skills are necessary. Experience in Web Application Development with ASP, .NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, XML and the integration with back end SQL Server databases is required.

Experience with migrating data and integrating data systems utilizing DTS packages along with SQL Server 2005 Reporting services is preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server 2003 is a plus. Lotus Notes (administration or development) and PHP experience is a plus.

Requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in a related area plus 4-6 years experience. Higher Education experience is a plus.

Admissions Counselor – Campus Visit Coordinator

The Admissions Counselor will play a central role in helping the college achieve its recruitment goals.  Responsibilities include:  coordinating campus visits, directing the Student Ambassador program and successfully managing a recruitment territory.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of Patrick Henry College who enthusiastically embraces the mission and vision of the College and who can clearly and persuasively articulate these to prospective students, parents, and others.  Must have strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Minimum Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree, familiarity with and desire to work with the home schooling community. Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time, mostly in the fall and spring.

Basic Responsibilities  :

Supervises the overall success of the food service operation,  adhering to the Client’s culture and guidelines, the Health Department’s regulations, and Bon Appétit’s standards and expectations of food quality, freshness and presentation.  Conduct training for all kitchen staff in proper kitchen conduct and food handling, overseeing the sanitation and safety of all kitchens.  Helps in food preparation and ensures that all kitchen employees produce delicious, eye-appealing and nutritious food.  Responsible for preparing weekly food production sheets, creates Café and catering menus, adhering to food cost guidelines.  Performs daily / weekly financial tracking for cost and inventory activities.  Orders all food products following Bon Appétit’s purchasing guidelines.  Solves problems professionally, timely and fairly.  Maintains and teaches a good work ethic.  Supports the General Manager, developing a sense of teamwork and cooperation.  Maintains kitchen equipment.

Dishwasher

The Dishwasher maintains the cleanliness of the dish machine, dish return conveyor, dish room and kitchen. Duties include cleaning floor mats, stacking all dishware safely and carefully, restocking all items, and notifying manager of any breakage or cleaning supply and chemical needs.

Must be courteous, helpful to customers and team player.
