PHC - Communicator Classic Tournament

Debaters, Coaches, and Directors,
 

We’re excited to announce Patrick Henry College’s second annual Communicator Classic! We look forward to hosting you on our beautiful colonial-style campus in Purcellville, VA, 40 miles west of D.C. and to showing you our new Barbara Hodel Student Center. We’ll be holding the Championship Rounds in the classically elegant Grand Lobby of the Hodel Center.

This tournament will be held on Thursday afternoon through Saturday, January 21-23, 2010 and will be both an NFA and NPDA sanctioned tournament.

In keeping with its name, the Communicator Classic will require competitors to express their arguments to “lay” judges. Our judging pool, comprised of members from the legal community and citizens of the D.C. metropolitan area, will be more impressed with good communication and substantive argumentation than with hyper-technical theory or speed.

We hope this information assists you in your preparation. We believe that you will experience solid competition in an idyllic setting at an accessible location. I look forward to welcoming you to Patrick Henry College.
