The History minor offers students the opportunity to enrich their education with the discipline of history. Students emerge from the History minor thoroughly trained in research methods, historiography, and the histories of a variety of eras and locales. They are prepared for a variety of vocations rooted in the liberal arts, including law, art history, classics, music, philosophy, and political theory.
Students earn a minor in history by completing six upper-division history courses. Two of those classes are Historical Research Methods (which imparts research skills to the student) and Historiography (which discusses what it means to do history from a Christian perspective). The remaining four courses are selected from among offerings like Modern Chinese History, the History of Classical Greek Civilization, and the History of Women in America.
