Patrick Henry College Approved by Virginia for New Major in Classical Liberal Arts
PURCELLVILLE, VA–Patrick Henry College has been authorized by the state of Virginia to enroll students in a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical Liberal Arts.The State Council of Higher Education met Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, and voted unanimously to approve the college's proposal for the new major.Michael Farris, president of Patrick Henry College, said that a large number of potential Classical Liberal Arts students have shown a strong interest in the college's apprenticeship model."A Classical Liberal Arts education at Patrick Henry College will appeal to students who wish to influence our popular and literary culture," Farris said. ...more
