James - Counselor

James is a senior international politics and policy major. While at PHC, he has served as an RA for two years, editor of the Intelligencer, and President of the Model UN club, where, under his leadership, the team won the highest award of Outstanding Delegation. He has been captain of the basketball team for the past three years, as well as serving as a security officer and leading a Bible study on campus. He has been involved in student government, as a senator and secretary of student life. He also starred in one of Eden Troupe’s plays – the Crucible. He is thrilled to be attending Harvard Law School in the fall. He hopes to practice law and then become a pastor later in life.

James enjoys playing basketball, swing dancing, and painting. His favorite things to paint are sunsets and landscapes. He loves spending time exploring small Virginia towns with his girlfriend. He is positively obsessed with popcorn, eating roughly six bags a week. If he even tastes one or two kernels, he has to eat the entire bag of movie theater butter popcorn. When he was a kid, his parents didn’t allow him to eat popcorn in an effort to be health conscious. James has now found himself now in a subconscious rebellion against his family’s no-popcorn policy.

This is his first time as a teen camp counselor, and he is excited to spend time with the campers.
