The Lady Sentinels traveled to Manor College in Jenkintown, PA on Saturday and came away with a convincing 84-28 win.
Solid defense led to many turnovers and the Sentinels were able to turn many of those into easy baskets. PHC led 36-8 after the first period and 58-12 at the half. Freshman superstars, Liana DeVore and Grace Banks, combined to score 50 points to lead the team. In the second half, all the players saw significant minutes, and everyone got on the scoreboard by the end of the game. Sophomore Annika Bebb said, “I think it helped that we had more people to rotate through. And, of course, it was extremely helpful to have our new starters - Liana, Grace, and Amelia. All of them are great players and have stepped up to play hard and help their teammates in practices and games.” This was an incredible start to the season, fueling the popular belief that this will be one of the best squads the college has seen in years. The Sentinels next game is at home on Thursday versus Northern Virginia Community College.
