Ashlyn Roberts is Adjunct Professor of Trial Advocacy, teaching Patrick Henry College’s mock trial students the fundamentals of trial advocacy and the specifics of the American Mock Trial Association’s current case problem. During her time in undergrad at Patrick Henry College, Ashlyn was the runner-up at the AMCA Moot Court Championship and qualified for the AMTA National Championship in Mock Trial. After graduating, Ashlyn coached PHC’s Moot Court and Mock Trial teams for two years before attending law school, helping lead the team to two National Championship titles in Moot Court and an honorable mention at the Mock Trial National Championship Tournament. She also taught Constitutional Law through HSLDA’s online academy for two years. Following law school, Ashlyn served as a volunteer mock trial coach at PHC in 2020-21 and 2023-24.
Ashlyn earned her J.D. from The George Washington University Law School, where she won the Van Vleck Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition with her husband and PHC alumnus Shane Roberts, and placed in the school’s intramural Mock Trial tournament. After law school, Ashlyn worked in complex civil litigation at Wiley Rein LLP in Washington, D.C., where she second-chaired a major health care arbitration among other matters. Ashlyn also clerked for Judge Paul B. Matey on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Ashlyn is grateful for the opportunity to teach at her alma mater and enjoys helping impart a love for litigation through mock trial.
Ashlyn and her husband Shane live in northern Virginia with their daughter.
