Two PHC students are interning at Concerned Women for America this summer! Rebecca Phillips and Sarah Merly share their thoughts about interning at CWA and working around major cultural issues. Read about their experiences!
Concerned Women for America has been a dream job so far! I'm doing legal research and writing on the NCAA transgender lawsuit. I've published a few articles, including an upcoming one on U.S. v. Skrmetti, which is a pending Supreme Court case on a TN state law that bans transgender treatments for minors. I regularly attend Senate hearings and press conferences on the Hill, which has given me policy exposure and networking opportunities. I’ve also spoken on the CWA podcast about state laws that undermine Title IX and protections for women in locker rooms and sports. I chose CWA because of the pro-family issues they prioritize and their grounding in Christian liberty. Working alongside faithful Christians has been such a joy this summer!

Interning with Concerned Women for America means representing all of our nation’s conservative Christian women on Capitol Hill. As I develop educational resources for high school and college students on our culture’s most prominent issues, I can confidently testify to the unique impact of CWA’s Scripture and discipleship-based approach, encouraging ordinary citizens and our highest legislators alike. I count it a true honor to serve our country alongside such God-fearing women.

Patrick Henry College exists to glorify God by challenging the status quo in higher education, lifting high both faith and reason within a rigorous academic environment; thereby preserving for posterity the ideals behind the "noble experiment in ordered liberty" that is the foundation of America.
