If Christians want to find a path forward through many of the controversial issues facing the church and society today, we’ll find that path by looking again at what it means that God made us—all of us—in His own image.

Register for Imago DeiBeginning with the opening chapters of Genesis, this course explores the profound truth that God made us in His own image, and it equips students to use that understanding to bless their neighbors and seek the good of society.

The Imago Dei Study GuidePatrick Henry College is excited to announce it's very first free, online video course, The Imago Dei. This course examines the idea that human beings are created in the image of God. If we’re made in God’s image, that changes how we should live. It helps us think wisely about the most controversial issues of our day.

The first Christians changed the world by affirming that humans are made in the image of God. This idea is at the center of what Christians have taught about politics and morality. It’s been central to Christian teaching about marriage, property, caring for the needy, and even science.

This course addresses some of those controversial issues, based on the conviction that God’s Word can provide clarity and guidance. The lectures show how we can move toward healthy and good lives—as individuals, as families, and as communities—by grounding our thinking in Biblical truth.

Each lecture addresses one controversial topic using a passage from Genesis as a starting point.

The first four lectures focus on what human beings are. In these lectures, the speakers address what it means to be made in the image of God, why it matters that God created us male and female, and how we’re all equal even though we have so many differences.

The final four lectures shift focus toward how we should live. In these lectures, the speakers explore what it means that God gave humans “dominion” (Gen 1:26) over the world. Topics include science, private property, poverty, and politics.

We're excited to join you on this journey of knowing God better.
