Alex Biermann has recently been promoted to Principal at VentureSouth, one of the largest angel investment groups in the country. After earning his BA at PHC, Alex began his career on the development team of a national nonprofit based in Washington, DC, before transitioning to finance.

"It is said that military life has a way of forging friendships of a depth that ordinary life does not. While I cannot speak to that from personal experience, I understand the principle that shared trials can develop deep bonds of friendship. The PHC experience is certainly not military life, but its struggles and challenges helped to develop friendships I still view as some of the closest connections I’ve enjoyed.

These relationships were built through shared challenges such as preparing for Dr. Spinney’s infamous US History exams or having to rapidly pen research papers with a late-semester deadline looming. They were also built through simple opportunities to step aside from the day-to-day grind by playing billiards in the BHC or making a late-night run to Taco Bell. While I sometimes tended to seclude myself in study, I’m thankful for the advice I received more than once at PHC to prioritize God and people, as no academic achievement or career success will ultimately last into eternity."
