Dr. Hudson Shedd was born on January 15, 1926, and entered the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ on October 26, 2012. He was the director emeritus of Gospel Mission of South America. Hudson Paul, named for missionaries Hudson Taylor and Paul the Apostle, was born in the small Bolivian town of San Pedro. His obituary in The Southern Sentinel recalled him as one who “faithfully ministered for Jesus Christ with spiritual gifts of mercy and teaching, always linked to a life of prayer and acts of service. He consistently lived out Paul’s words in Philippians 2:3-4, looking out for the ‘interests of others.’ He shared his faith by word and action, genuinely caring about and praying for hundreds of people.”

Up to $5,000 single award (for a school year), with multiple awards as funds received permit.
1. Selection of up to two scholarships per year for students in the Strategic Intelligence Major at Patrick Henry College, based on academic performance.
2. Selection of the remaining scholarships will be for students in the Strategic Intelligence Major, based on financial need.
3. Preference will be given in the financial need category to applicants whose parents are active missionaries.
